Information & Guidance on Financial Support
Students may be eligible to access financial support through one of the following funds during the academic year:

Students in the following categories are not eligible for support:
Payments
Learners must have a current bank account in their own name in order to apply. If you do not have an account in your name please contact the team before applying. You can email the team at [email protected]
The amount awarded is based on assessment of the students course related need, the timing of the application and available funds may also affect the award.
Payments may be withheld for students with attendance below 95% unless students can provide a valid reason and back it up with evidence. A Payment Schedule will be sent via student email once an application is approved. All payments will be made via bank transfer only.
Payments will not be backdated.
Meal Support
All meal support payments are subject to attendance and are paid directly into students bank accounts on a monthly basis.
Support with Travel
Students may be eligible to receive a financial contribution towards travel depending on how far they live from their college campus. If you are aged 19+ you must live over 1.5 miles from the college. If you are aged 16-18 you must live outside of a London Borough or have a journey time of over 2 hours via bus. Receipts may be required at various points in the year.
Support with compulsory Equipment/Kit/Uniform/Trips/DBS fees
Support for equipment, kit, uniform, DBS fees and trips will only be provided if it is a compulsory part of a course. Payments are made once proof of purchase has been received.
Deadline
You are strongly advised to apply as soon as you start your course. Applications will be assessed on a first come first served basis subject to the availability of funds.
Advanced Learner Loan Bursary
You can apply for a bursary as long as your loan has been approved and you meet the eligibility criteria set out above under 19+ Learner Support Fund. In addition, evidence of your loan approval may need to be uploaded on your application.

20+ Childcare
If you are a parent who is aged 20+ and your income is less than £30,000 gross per year you may qualify for support towards childcare whilst you study. The College will contribute the cost of childcare during term time for timetabled days in college directly to an OFSTED registered childcare, subject to eligibility and availability of funds. Payment is made direct to the childcare provider.
16-19 Childcare
Parents aged 16-19 can also apply for childcare support, this is done through the Care to Learn Scheme. For more informtion visit https://www.gov.uk/care-to-learn.
Application
Submit your application including the supporting documents requested on the application form. The process is fairly straightforward but if you are not confident in using the online feature, you may wish to ask a family member or a friend to support you. Student Financial Support staff will also be available at the Rush Green Campus if you need further advice. Once you have submitted your application you will receive updates and notifications sent to your college email address.
